Jonas Schmieta ist seit 2014 als freiberuflicher Kameramann für Film und Theater tätig. 2015 bis 2019 studierte er an der Fachhochschule Dortmund Film & Sound mit Schwerpunkt Bildgestaltung. Seine Arbeiten als Kameramann umfassen die Bereiche Spielfilm, Dokumentarfilm und Experimentelle Kurzfilme. Außerdem führten Engagements als Live-Kameramann und Video-Künstler ihn u. a. an die Staatsoper & Theater Hannover, Oper & Schauspiel Dortmund sowie an das Theater Bremen.
